Too Faced Melted Liquified Longwear Lipstick Review/Swatches

So I figured I would start out this blog reviewing newer items that I have purchased. When the Too Faced Melted Liquified Longwear Lipsticks (what a mouthful) were first released at Sephora, I was immediately drawn to them. I am a lip product junkie, and the colors caught my eye. Plus, I love trying new lip things. I will review each color, and then give my overall impressions at the end. I own Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Violet, Melted Marshmallow and Melted Fig. Here's a look at all the colors swatched on my arm:

L - R: Melted Fig, Melted Violet, Melted Marshmallow, Melted Peony, Melted Nude

Melted Fig -

This is a new release for Too Faced, and it is currently only available online at TooFaced.com. This is a deep plum color. It is really pretty, but not at all what I thought it was going to be from the packaging (you'll notice this is a trend with most of the colors). Definitely darker than I anticipated, but will make a great fall/winter color.

Melted Violet -

Okay, I did actually swatch this one in the store, and I will say that the packaging does accurately portray the color that you get. It is a pretty bright purple, that definitely leans more towards magenta than purple. I love purpley (real word?) lipsticks, and I don't have anything else like this color in my collection. It is definitely the sheerest of the lipsticks, but nothing that a little extra product doesn't fix. I am in love with this color. Perfect for spring and summer for a nice pop of color.

Melted Marshmallow -

This is another newly released shade, exclusive to TooFaced.com. I LOVE this color. It is the perfect bubble-gum/baby pink goodness. I was a bit worried when I saw that the packaging was a darker pink, but this color was exactly what I wanted. As you can see in the swatches, it is a couple of shades lighter than Melted Peony. This (for me) is the perfect pink for spring and summer everyday wear.

Melted Peony -

Here is another color where the packaging deceived me. If you placed Melted Peony and Melted Marshmallow side by side, I would have said Melted Peony was the lighter shade. Wrong! This is a medium toned pink. Not too dark, but definitely not light. For me, it is a perfect "wear to the office" shade, for when I want a little color, but don't want to scare my coworkers.

Melted Nude -

I didn't actually swatch this color in the store....and I wish I had. Looking at the packaging, I expected this to be a lighter nude, which I personally like. However, once I got this home and tried it on, I realized that it was a lot darker than I expected. The color leans almost peach on my skin tone. I think maybe with a tan this will look better on me, but right now, I don't think this color really suits me.

Overall Thoughts !!

So I am OBSESSED with these lip products. My personal favorites are Melted Violet and Melted Marshmallow. One downside I would say, is that these can tend to be a bit drying. They are meant to be long-wearing, and leave a stain, but they can definitely dry your lips out if you don't moisturize before applying. For me, it's not a big deal. These last ~4 hours on me, with minimal wear. The applicator is a sponge tip, and it helps for easy application. I have smaller lips, so I do find that I sometimes need to go around and make sure I didn't get outside of the lines. The colors that I did not list as TooFaced.com exclusives, can be found at Sephora, Ulta, and TooFaced.com for $21.00 USD. The price is a little steep, but I can see these lasting for a long time. Definitely worth it for me!

Let me know if you own any of the Melted Lipsticks. Are there any other colors I should try?

Have a great Friday!
